Leadership

In 2002, Dr. Puxty accepted the position of Chief of Staff of Providence Continuing Care Centre.  The challenge of retaining leadership roles in the Division of Geriatrics, SERGP and a major role as Chief of Staff was noted. Recruitment for a new leadership candidate was initially unsuccessful in 2003 but did succeed in identifying several excellent junior candidates. Of these, Dr. Sudeep Gill was recruited to enhance both the clinical and academic capacity of the Division.

PCCC has identified the desire to introduce Program Management within all of its hospital sites. It is anticipated this will be implemented at SMOL by spring 2005. In anticipation of this, the new positions of Clinical Director and Administrative Director of SERGP were created. Dr. Frank was appointed the interim Clinical Director in 2003 for an initial  term of  2 years.

Dr. Gibson has taken over the role of coordinating the undergraduate and residency teaching programs within the Division of Geriatrics in 2003.

Dr. Garcia has taken over as Chair of the Medicine in Society Undergraduate Committee in 2003.
